This paint mixing and transfer skid was designed for a manufacturer of radiators that are used to cool large transformers. Our customer wanted to be able to efficiently mix paint and other chemicals to produce the protective outer coating that is applied on their radiators.
Our engineered solution consisted of two Tuthill Global Gear pumps coupled to 5 HP explosion-proof Baldor motors through Nord gear reducers. A stainless steel tank built by our Michigan branch location, a Sharpe mixer, Titan Basket strainers, a FTI #2 Filter housing, and Jomar actuated ball valves were added. The pumps feature a Flex-a-seal double mechanical seal and a seal pot. Not pictured is a control panel for the system. A second paint transfer line was added to be able to increase the customer’s production capabilities, saving them valuable time.
