Kerr Pump Repair

May 17, 2022

An engineered coating manufacturer needed their Kerr 5500 Series Vertical Process Pump repaired. As seen in the pictures below, excessive scale buildup inside and outside of the pump’s wet end caused the pump to seize or completely lock up. The shaft unfortunately needed to be replaced due to wear in critical areas. After replacing the shaft, we replaced the common wear items (O-rings, gaskets, bearings, etc…) and reset the impeller clearance to provide enough space for proper function. We then added a fresh coat of paint and the pump looks and performs like it just came from the factory.
