Vincent Corporation

Vincent Corporation specializes in the design, engineering and manufacturing of screw presses. These are machines that squeeze liquid out of organic material, operating in a continuous (not batch) mode. They offer small 4″ laboratory models on up to giant 50 ton machines with screws that are 40″ in diameter. Applications include, but are not limited to, citrus, cellulosic alcohol, coffee, food waste, nutraceuticals, cooking oil recovery, plastics recycling, energy, pulp & paper, pineapple, egg shells, manure, juice food & beverage and tobacco.

TSP Series Screw Presses

TSP Series Screw Presses

The Twin Screw Press operates by using two screws that progressively reduce pitch rotate inside a screen surface. The material entering the hopper is subjected to gradually increasing pressure as it moves toward the exit end of the press, forcing the liquid phase to extrude through the screen. High capacity continuous dewatering is possible with slippery materials such as spent grain, fruits and vegetables, citrus waste, fish, sugar beet pulp, and shrimp waste. Features of the Twin Screw Press include very positive feeding, low horsepower, and automatic adjustment for changes in feed rate to the press. Seven stages of compression in overlapping screws result in very strong dewatering and feeding action. The slicing action of the interrupted flight screws results in reduced power consumption. A discharge cone actuated by air cylinders permits consistent performance over a wide range of flow rates and consistencies.

All Twin Screw Presses require a variable speed drive (VFD), because the capacity of these presses is very sensitive to changes in speed.

Relevant Applications, including, but not limited to:

  • Abrasive Wear and RPM
  • Alcohol Wash
  • Aloe Vera
  • Banana Waste
  • Boiler Ash
  • Carpet Fiber
  • Citrus Pressing
  • Duckweed
  • Egg Shells
  • Ginger
  • Manure Presses
  • Spent Coffee
Shredders

Shredders

Vincent Corporation offers a line of shredders, because a screw press often performs better if material is shredded before being fed into the press. The Vincent shredder is a horizontal machine with a 180 degree discharge area on the underside. It is ideally suited to bulky materials, such as citrus peel, whole fruit, and produce waste.

The shredder blades, which are fixed, rotate on a horizontal shaft and are made of a heat treated stainless alloy. A key advantage of the Vincent company blades is that the direction of rotation can be reversed to obtain double the life of the rotor. This is done by simply reversing two of the power lead wires to the motor. The Vincent Shredder is well suited for wet and dry materials. Optimum performance is achieved with materials containing either more than 80% moisture or less than 20%. Shredder housings are easily un-bolted to ease the changing of screens and rotors. Washing and inspection are also facilitated. The standard construction of a Vincent Shredder housing is 304 stainless steel with a carbon steel base.

Fiber Filters

Fiber Filters

Vincent Corporation line of Fiber Filters feature fine filtration of high gpm throughputs. The fiber filter operates continuously and is vibrated clean by the process flow, requiring only occasional back-flush cycles. Liquid flows with fiber contents ranging from 0.3% to 1.5% are thickened to a range of 4% to 14% solids with the Fiber Filter. The Fiber Filter can replace equipment ranging from pre-thickening screens to centrifuges. Fiber Filters can be used both to thicken flow ahead of a screw press and to remove fiber from press liquor.

Common applications include:

  • Cannery Wastewater
  • Canola & Soybean Protein Concentrate
  • Juice Finishing
  • Nutraceuticals
  • Pumpkin
  • Starchy Vegetable Wastewater
