The Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technician, reporting to the Warehouse and Production Manager, is directly responsible for building pumps and equipment specific to customer needs.
This role will create sketches or work from drawings, schematics, and manuals to build the process equipment.
Knowledge of electrical motors, wiring, and controls needed. Will also offer assistance to Maintenance functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive new pump orders, determine building needs, list components, pull parts from stock, build equipment, test for effectiveness, and document as required.
- Create or interpret design sketches to finish product.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, schematics, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks.
- Work with Application Engineers, Project Managers, and/or Mechanical Designers to recommend changes to design for manufacturability, for improved methods and efficiencies.
- Fit and assemble components according to documentation.
- Complete wiring of the panels, VFD’s, switches, etc. to the skid units using documentation.
- Functionally test or verify that everything is correct and operating properly.
- Use computer to look up customers, research parts, diagram, schematic, and manuals online.
- Follow all safety guidelines of the company.
- Help maintain a clean and safe shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Experience
Required:
- Outstanding, demonstrable mechanical aptitude.
- Solid electrical knowledge of controls, circuitry, schematics, VFD’s.
- Knowledge of electrical motors.
- Detail-oriented with solid math skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of metal working and metal fabrication.
- Proven ability to successfully troubleshoot.
- Valid driver’s license with a record that allows you to be covered by company insurance.
- At least 3 years of electrical and fabrication experience.
Preferred:
- Industrial pumping systems knowledge/experience.
- Experience with machining tools (lathe, brake press, Bridgeport, etc).
- Hydraulic equipment maintenance or repair experience.
- Associates degree or trade school certificate in related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 90% of he day.
- Ability to twist and turn at least 25% of day.
- Stoop and bend at least 25% of day.
- Ability to reach above shoulders at least 25% of day.
- Repetitive hand and wrist movements at least 50% of the day.
- Forearm rotation at least 25%of the day.
