Exciting Advancement in Seal-less Internal Gear Pump Technology

November 1, 2014

We would like to introduce an exciting advancement in seal-less internal gear pump technology from Pump Solutions Group. The PSG EnviroGear is an innovative, durable and environmentally friendly positive displacement gear pump. EnviroGear Internal Gear Pumps save you money by providing a low initial cost, high performance, and low maintenance costs. The revolutionary seal-less design with patented between-the-bearing support system effectively eliminates leaks and mechanical wear, helping to increase personal and environmental safety.

Design
The Internal Gear Pump design has been around for 100+ years. In the past, several manufacturers have tried to improve the design but have never addressed its main weakness, the overhung load. Instead of a long shaft and pin to support the rotor and idler gear, the EnviroGear incorporates a unique, patented stationary eccentric spindle that supports the rotor and idler at each end as well as in the center, eliminating shaft deflection and the overhung load. This feature significantly improves life of internal parts and lowers maintenance costs by reducing contact wear to the rotor, casing, idler, crescent, and head.

Interchangeability
The Seal-less Internal Gear Pump is designed to be interchangeable with 95% of the internal gear pumps available. This means no piping changes, no driver changes, no coupling changes, no flow rate changes and no baseplate changes. It is a direct ‘drop in’, and available in 90 and 180° porting.

One-Fluid Chamber
Traditional magnetically-coupled positive displacement pumps are designed with two fluid chambers separated by an adapter plate, which results in product entrapment and poor reliability when moving high viscosity fluids. The EnviroGear Seal-less Internal Gear Pump uses magnets mounted directly to the rotor, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and allowing for a single fluid chamber. This design results in a much shorter, simpler flow path, and allows the pump to easily handle fluids with high viscosities up to 50,000 cSt while increasing bearing life and cleaning capability.
